Issue with fuel pump?
I just purchased a CPO 2016 GS350 FSport few weeks ago with 6k miles. I've driven about 1.7k miles since the purchase and I noticed in the last few days, there was a chirping noise (almost sounds like a bunch of crickets constantly chirping) coming from the engine. The noise is more dominant on the passenger side and is louder when the car has been driven/warmed up. I don't hear it after starting it up in the morning. I took the car into Lexus for them to look at and they said its an issue with the fuel pump and had a new one ordered.
My question is:
1) Has anyone else encountered this issue?
2) Since its a CPO, shouldn't this issue been caught during the inspection?

Your warranty should cover it since it isn't a typical wear and tear part like a drive belt. Maybe during the certification process, the chirping sound wasn't present, and so they wouldn't think that anything was wrong with the fuel pump.
I recently had a chirping noise in the engine bay also, but mine turned out to be a worn drive belt, which wasn't covered under warranty. I initially thought one of the pulleys went bad but the diagnosis showed the belt was the culprit.
