Default 2016+ "value" in F Sport package?

For pre refresh years, I think there were a lot of "value" in the F sport package as it included a new front bumper, heated and ventilated seats, blind spot monitoring, etc. However, with 2016+ models, F sport only adds a difference grill (correct me if I am wrong -I think the bumper itself stays the same) and base GS 350s already come with a ton of safety features as well as the heated and ventilated seats.

So is the 2016+ f sport package still worth it at almost 5k extra?

I am in the market for a CPO 2015 f sport or a new 2016 base model. There is not much price difference between the two and the differences between base vs f sport has got me thinking....

What do you guys think?

Of course, there are differences in suspension for the f sport package models - but I am basically looking at "value" of an f sport for 2013-2015 vs 2016+ models.

From Lexus website,
F SPORT PACKAGE
  • F SPORT EXTERIOR STYLING
  • F SPORT PERFORATED LEATHER–TRIMMED STEERING WHEEL AND SHIFTER
  • VARIABLE GEAR-RATIO STEERING
  • NAGURI ALUMINUM INTERIOR TRIM
  • F SPORT 19-INCH SPLIT-SIX-SPOKE FORGED ALLOY WHEELS WITH DARK GRAPHITE FINISH*[2]
  • HIGH-PERFORMANCE F SPORT BRAKES*[3]
  • F SPORT INTERIOR STYLING
  • F SPORT SUSPENSION TUNING
  • F SPORT 16-WAY POWER-ADJUSTABLE DRIVER'S SEAT WITH POWER SIDE BOLSTERS
  • ALUMINUM PEDALS
  • LEXUS DYNAMIC HANDLING SYSTEM INCLUDING DYNAMIC REAR STEERING
  • LFA-INSPIRED DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION
  • SPORT S+ DRIVING MODE
  • POWER REAR SUNSHADE
  • RAIN-SENSING WIPERS
I am not sure about few options listed like, POWER REAR SUNSHADE, RAIN-SENSING WIPERS. Aren't those standard in all GS?

I'm not sure with the refreshed models, but the rain sensing wipers, rear sunshade, and heated/ventilated seats were part of the premium package for earlier model years.

So some of these features were available with premium package but now standard for base models - that makes the f sport a less bang for buck now, right?

Most notable F-Sport features over not F-Sport is 8-speed trans, limited slip dif, LCD gauges, 2pc aluminum rotors, and larger staggered wheels (rwd model)

I think the 8 speed transmission is standard on all GS 350s

So do you guys find the upgrades (suspension and brakes, sport+ mode, minor interior differences, wheels) worthwhile for the 5k price difference?

I purchased mine CPO so the price premium was negligible. The that being said, I definitely consider the F Sport package worth it. My car also has rear steering and I love the way it handles.

The ML audio is worth it too.

I see your GS is a pre-refresh model. For those, I definitely think the F sport package was worth it. It came with a lot more extras than it does now.

The liking/disliking towards interior and exterior modifications in the F-Sport is subjective.

For difference in driving dynamics due to upgraded suspension, brakes, sport+ mode, wheels, etc. in the F-Sport, see this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...014-gs350.html
