Default 245/40/19 All Around Handling?

I'm looking to see who has the 245/40/19 all around set up on their AWD , and how the handling is? The stock tire 235/40 has very little to choose from.... Ive heard good things about the P7 but Im a huge Continental fan , and the DWS only comes in 245/40/19 .... Pics would help to of the all around set up...

I'm running 245/40/19 Pilot AS3 on my Lux awd. Can't compare to stock 19 size as I switched from 18s, but no complaints overall and obviously more responsive than the18s were. Main reason I went with 245 was limited selection in 235 as you've mentioned. I recommend going 245.

Steve,

Do you happen to have any pics of your setup? Most on the board have the staggered setup , and the 19s I got are all 19x8 ,so to have the all around set up seems to be pretty rare...

Thanks!!!

I'm thinking of doing the same thing soon and the differences are pretty small, i don't know if it will translate to a visual difference unless you were looking really close.
235 has a 94mm section height
245 has a 98mm section height (+4mm) and (+10mm tire width).

Found these in my files from last year (I have Luxury wheels with winter tires on for 3 more weeks or so). The 245's are a little bit taller than the 235's which helps with the notorious wheel gap. Every bit helps given that I don't want to lower it

The numbers you posted don't seem to equate to much difference so the 245s are a no brainer given the lack of options for the stock tire...

I had the 245/40/19's all the way around before I went staggered on my AWD. The handling was good for me but mine came with them when I bought the car so I don't have any experience to compare to.

I don't have 19's but I've been happy with my Yokohama YK740's, they are 235/45. I don't know if its the tires or the awd but when I take a pretty quick turn the car just completely sticks to the road. Still getting used to how I can push it with the setup, other cars I wouldn't have trusted making turns at the speeds I've tried, its probably more having the AWD.

I wouldn't mind the 235s but there aren't many to choose from , where as the 245 has several ..

If 245s work on AWD with factory stance then I'm all in...agreed that there's slim pickings for the 235s.

Has anyone checked their speedometer and odometer error with the 245 series tires on an AWD? Just curious. OK, looked up on google and it appears to be 1.2% error. Not bad. Site says if the speedometer shows 100 MPH, you are doing 101.2. That sound right?
