Default Poor MPG, is there a reset?

My 2013 GS is getting poor MPG, right now I average about 17.5 MPG in kinda mixed driving. I also have an RX350 which gets about 18-19MPG in the same driving style. I have been babying the pedal and seems I can't break 18MPG.

Is there a way to reset the ECU to make it relearn my driving habits to help it? I can't see how this car can get 28 on the highway.

Lots of other threads on this topic - the fourth gen GS350 is not great on gas in City driving in Normal/Sport/Sport+ modes. I typically get 12-15 mpg in all city driving. The best i've ever done is a trip to CT when I got around 24mpg all highway driving. I have 18" OEM wheels, no drop, all stock setup with no excess weight. I drive spirited only on occasion.

Unless you feel there might be a bigger problem with the car (oxygen sensor, muffler, fuel pump), its pretty typical for the 4GS to get mixed driving MPGs in the high teens.

Good to know. I was feeling maybe I was doing something wrong. If that's the case then I guess there isn't much you can do.

Silly question, have you reset the mpg calculator? Try disconnecting the battery for 5 min and let ECU reset.

Thought my RCF was bad. I get around 15 city drive like i stole it.

I babied and kept it under 2.5 rev for the past 3 days and actually got 18 all city. Shocking.

Good to know I'm not the only one getting in that range, 14mpg for me. I'm only 1.5 tanks into this car so far. I drive it pretty aggressively though alot in manual mode, and drive in sport+ apexi accell on red all the time. I'm still learning the car so I don't take it very easy on it. I imagine on highway trips it would be much better. I believe it relearns the trottle mapping if you reset ECU, so removing the battery should do it but you will lose some settings. May want to research if there is another way.

Do you frequently top-off the fuel tank, or do you let it run down fairly well before refill?

There was a recent thread about the vapor recovery sensor, or something along those lines, can impact MPG.

When I drive a mixture, and mind you I'm fairly light on the throttle mostly, I'll get ~ 22ish. If I'm mostly highway, maybe 24ish. Mostly city or stop/go, maybe 20ish. If I get on the throttle much, I get much worse.
