Hi guys! Seems like my pwr volume switch has sunken in and broke.. do you guys know how I can fix it without having to shell out for a new head unit? Thanks in advanced!

Ironically I rarely use the **** since I use the volume keys on the steering wheel mostly. It just so happened to be stuck in. The previous owner loves music as the **** had some scratches when I got the car lol

Sunken in volume button
Fellas, just wanted to weigh in on my '13 volume button issue. Didn't press it very hard at all and it sunk all the way in flush. Took it to dealer today and they said they are going to try and pull the button out but it will most likely scratch up the button so they said if they can they will replace just the button. If problem persists, they will have to replace the whole head unit.... so glad I bought that extended warranty from carmax! Have had a squeaky steering wheel pulley, fast running clock and now the radio all covered under my warranty so far.

I ran into this problem today and wound up on this forum looking for solutions. I was able to pull the **** back out using 2 popsicle sticks and a pair of channel locks. You may need to shave the popsicle sticks down with a razor blade but should be able to get one in the top and bottom. I was careful not to squeeze too hard so as not to damage the metal and the **** came right out. I hope this method works for others. (note that channel lock images below were taken after the **** was pulled out)

I simply took a flat clothing button and looped about 10 loops of thread thru it (Fishing line would do as well, fewer loops). I used a glue gun to glue the button onto the radio button. Let it cool for about 2 minutes, and simply slowly pulled out the radio button.
Once the button was off I was able peel of any glue without any residue and push it back on to the normal position.
It's been fine since I did the repair about 3 months ago.
