Default New GS350 Owner from ES300h

Hello All,

Here is a background story. We bought a 2013 ES300h in January 2016, but I felt it wasn't as good as my old 2007 ES 350 ultra luxury and we sold it and have been shopping for GS 350 F Sport for the last couple months.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-or-14-gs.html

I finally found the vehicle that I'm looking for, mainly looking for F Sport with White/Cabernet, but I was so pleased to find a GS equipped with HUD.

I'm still learning about the car. Would love to hear from current/potential GS owners the good/bad.

Nice! I just moved from a 2007 IS350 to a 2015 GS F Sport this past November.

You got any pics? How are you liking it? Rear wheel drive is a lot different from the front wheel drive of the ES.

I love everything about the car. Much better than my IS350.

I attached two pics, did you see it? Planning to add more.

We had a 2012 535i before sold it as well, so I didn't mean to compare a FWD to RWD. But from Lexus to Lexus, I felt the GS build quality is a lot nicer than ES. The GS is a lot lighter than 535i, so it's more sporty. 535i was a great highway cruiser though.

Is your atomic silver? I love that color but believe only available starting 2015?

Congrats. Rare option on Power Trunk w/o luxury package. That is the only option I wish I had it on my car.

You posted the pics while I was writing my post. I got the Nebula Grey with Cabernet interior. I think it's just the morning light that's playing tricks on my car color.

Interesting you mention the 535i, I was really thinking about getting that car, but in the end didn't want a turbo (used to have an Audi A4 turbo prior to my IS) and wanted a family sedan that felt light and sporty. Between the GS, BMW and Cadillac v-sport, I went with the GS and am very happy about that decision.

I know, Lexus is late on that department. You should not have to slam your trunk on a $55K+ car.

Funny thing is, I was in 2017 ES 350 loaner and it has power trunk. Of course, starting 2017, LKA and Cruise Radar are also standard.

The only thing that you may be disappointed in with the GS compared to the ES is the gas mileage. In the ES300h you probably got in the 30's mpg. In the GS I have been lucky to hit 20 mpg. Usually am in the 16-19 mpg range. Some people say they get in the mid 20's, but have not experienced that. Nevertheless, I love the driving experience of the GS so not too worried about the low mpg.

How many miles on it ? Do you have illuminated door sills I have noticed the cars with the Lexus Pinstripes are more equipped then the ones without like mine also has hud,ml and dynamic rear steer.

Pinstripe is a dealer installed option and can be installed on any GS ragardless of trim and package. It just so happends you only see better package cars with pinstripe. I have seen many GS and ES base model without any options including NO gps with pinstripe too.

My 2014 GS 350 Loaded luxury package did not come with pinstripe. I liked that look so i installed the pinstripe myself.

ditto. That is what I dislike most about the GS, Trunk lid, even when I unlock it, I have to heave it up to get inside, I might have torsion bar issues, I did see where the previous owner had issues with them and they have been replaced previously. You folks without power trunk lids, do they open all the way up themselves once unlocked, if not, are they pretty light to lift? For a luxury car, this is annoying, but love just about everything else about the car!
