Default GS depreciation.

Mods, i did a quick search and couldn't find a similar thread.

Base on the low sales Lexus just had this past year, will that accelerate the depreciation and the value of the 4th Gen GS's? I'm trying to gauge the right time to purchase a GS, but i'm torn between the 2015's and previous and the 2016's. Seems to me that the 2015 and previous haven't gone down much. smh

I would think you are going to find good deals on the '15 and earlier, if nothing else due to age. The '15 seemed to have a long production run and on sale from about Oct. '14 to spring of '16, when the refreshed '16's finally came out. Also '15's had better deals when new, so were cheaper to start with. '16 had a short production run and not very good deals, so there will be a lot less "used" '16's around, which should keep the prices higher. Also '16 and '17 are identical......which again should contribute to keeping the 16's value up.

Well you won't see very many discounts on '16s right now. If you wanted a new '16, December would have been the best month to buy new. Dealers were giving steep discounts, I was seeing some new offered below CPO prices. Crazy!

It sounds like you want used though. Just like any used car, the older you go the cheaper you'll find as it'll just continue to depreciate. I do think once the '16 CPOs start flooding the market later this year, '13-'15s will drop in price even more. But then you're just waiting and waiting... my advice is if you want a car right now, then find the ideal car for you. And then work the deal to make sure you're paying well below market price.

Definitely much better discounts when they had December to Remember. Glad I was able to get a very good deal on a brand new 2016 GS350 F Sport end of December 2016, below $49,000 out the door for a car with an MSRP of about $59,000.

I just received an e mail from my Lexus dealer offering me $22,000 as a trade i value in for my mint low mileage 13 F sport, I must say that was a low blow, then as I was getting my GS serviced on Monday I looked at a new GS F sport that was on display in the waiting that almost looked like mine and I looked at the window sticker that showed $55k and change, but reading the options it has the 4 cyl turbo engine ! Am I missing something ?. Now I know why I have never bought a new car in my life, and I also have a mint sc430 my wife drives .

Thank you for the replies and sharing. I think i'm going to wait until the 15's go down a little more, maybe until the summer. Or if see a low mileage CPO I will jump head first.

When it comes to a Lexus vehicle holding their value GX and the LX are the best. 10 year old GX with 60-70k miles is still worth in the 20s which is excellent specially it being cheaper then many FSports GSs we have.

Wow. I am a bargainer but my wife is an extra hard bargainer. I don't know how I would react if my S.O. did that....... Well, actually I do....
