Oil Filter Issue
So today i tried doing my first oil change on my newly acquired GS 350 FSport AWD.
When it came to replacing the filter, to my dismay, the filter i purchased at the dealer did not fit.
The center opening on the filter is far too small to easily or even snugly fit onto the oil filter metal piece thing that you unscrew.
I ended up having to go to Autozone to purchase another filter. Fortunately, i was with a friend and he had car.
The STP (S10158) filter fit perfectly and looked similar to the old dirty filter that it replaced.
I called a dealer in Cali to find out the correct filter and he told me 04152-YZZA5. Based on searching the forum, 15613-YZZA2 is the old part number for the same filter.
Can someone clarify for me the correct filter for an AWD GS? There is no way the Toyota 04152-YZZA will fit without it being forced.
TLDR; Is the Toyota 04152-YZZA5 (stamped on box), 15613-YZZA2 (stamped on the filter itself) the correct filter for an AWD GS350?
Am i supposed to force the filter on there if it doesn't fit easily? or should it slide on easily like the STP and the old filter?
Or did the parts department sell me the wrong filter?

04152-YYZA5 is what I show. It seems like the filter in the box is wrong. That filter number (on the filter) is not for your car. I've not change the oil on my GS yet so haven't bought a filter.

For your GS 350 AWD model you need Toyota/Lexus Oil Filter Element #04152-38010 or 04152-YZZA5.
Note: The above noted part number replaces old Part# 15613-YZZA2, but this old part number is oftentimes still shipped in a box with the 04152-YZZA5 label.

BCLexus is an amazing wealth of knowledge. I do have a question beyond the original post. What oil filter cartridge would be superior to a Lexus filter, if any? I guess Lexus can't blame an oil related failure on the owner if the oil level is correct and a Lexus filter was installed.

PS - Thanks for the kind words...
