I had to replace rotors recently and I had a hell of a time dealing with my dealership even though my car was certified. It was my fault for not bringing this to their attention when I purchased the car. As other folks mentioned, new brakes and rotors should not shake upon application of the pedal unless the rotors are somehow deformed or warped.

In my case, the dealership was not sympathetic - so I went to my local shop, purchased aftermarket brakes and rotors myself and got it done without a headache. With wear/tear items, its often tough to get dealerships to replace unless you have a bumper-to-bumper type platinum warranty.

the dealer that he bought the car is a part of large auto groupp that own toyota, honda dealers. Yes they dont have lexus does not mean they cant do the job right!

If i was him and the dealer said they changed the brake i will go back there and demand for the warranty work. If the parts dont meet standard i will ask them to swap it out. The car need to be safe to drive, the shaking can damage other parts such as chasis, strut, tires and ball join. He spend your money, and for a 2013gs350 i bet it has to be over $20k- a large amount of money it need to be worth it. Just my 2cents.

So i took the car down to my friends at Mcgrath Lexus. They said that the front rotors are getting over heated and thus getting warped. That they are turning blue? so i believe that Grossinger didn't change the rotors like they said they did. They also told me that the car has aftermarket pads. And quoted me $596 for only the front brand new OEM Rotors and OEM pads.

I called Grossinger and told them the news but didn't tell them the amount quoted. They said that the manager was going to talk to the service department and see why they never changed the rotors. I told them i want new rotors and pads and all have to be OEM parts and they said that those parts are going to cost more money. I was initially quoted around $200 from them and now i see they were planning on installing aftermarket parts. I told Grossinger to call me back and tell me what is the new quote from which i would pay half for oem parts to be installed. I haven't heard from them yet.

I am just about to just settle with doing the work with the lexus dealership and just paying the $596 for new rotors and pads all oem. I just want all this issues to end already. And i will have a peice of mind that Lexus will do a good job. My friend told me that the $596 quote Lexus dealership gave me for New front rotors and pads is a crazy good deal. that i should just do that and forget about grossinger. what you guys think?

It's next to impossible to trust a used car dealer that doesn't sell the brand you are interested in buying. Sounds like they screwed you...and it looks like they'll get away with it.

The $596 quote from the Lexus dealership is a little pricey for just front rotors/pads - they are probably charging a lot for labor. Houseoflexus.com (lexus of san deigo) has non-F sport front rotors for $70 a piece and $55 for front pads (about $200 for your parts).

I think the F-Sport units are much more expensive than the non-F Sport units. There are a couple of ads on eBay for OEM front brake kits (two rotors and set of front pads), they range from $450 to just over $500.

fsport has 2 pieces rotor that cost 250 a rotor (500 for a set)
@op if your lexus dealer install 2 pieces oem rotors and pads for 600, take it man!

True - if he has a RWD F-Sport GS (2 piece rotors only on the RWD F-Sport), then the price is great..otherwise, if he has an AWD, it may be a little high...

So what happened? Did OP get the selling dealer to step up and fix it? I'd demand my money back on the vehicle, most states allow the buyer some recourse.

So some States now allow the buyer to return the car if he or she is not satisfied?
Or if there is a problem, they can return the car? What if the dealer refuses to take it back?
If there is a hard and fast rule than probably the dealer has no choice but to accept the car back.

I see you are also in Oklahoma, it used to be 7 days here...I think it still is.

not covered by state (at least in California) but you can sign a seperate contract with dealers whom agree to do so. Autonation has that program. But the term really limited 7 days, 100 miles. Anyway you better of test drive the car double, triple check before you sign the paperwork.
ps: only works on used car. New car you sign you buy once the dmv paperwork was issued.
