Note 7 with 2015 GS 350 F Sport
guys, i've been using iphone since they came out, i just made the switch to note 7 before the re-call issued. anyhow, when i had iphone i always connect to the car via USB cable, then i go to the car and select ipod, i can control everything on my car.
now with note 7 *new to android* the ipod is grayed out! how can i listen to music via USB cable? i do NOT want Bluetooth since quality is horrible. i already tried to play settings on my phone such as connect as drive, as music, as charging..etc
btw, i tried to google but no luck with answer.

Bluetooth is pretty horrible in my book.. I think it streams at 96 kbps or whatever that quality scale is..
I used bluetooth music streaming ONCE and never again.. I know wires are ugly..
I think Lexus uses an older Bluetooth version without Apt-X.. so low bandwidth.
Answer to OP's question... i have no idea

Androids would be treated as a USB device. And there is no reason why BT would sound any worse than a wired connection. BT has more than enough bandwidth to transmit CD quality audio. Any audio degradation will be from encoding and decoding.
I for one just use BlueTooth and do not hear any difference than a USB connection.

I also can attest to the high quality of the Bluetooth in the newer Lexus models. It's definitely on par with the wired connection. I know, I didn't contribute any info to regarding your question lol.

wow, I am very surprised not a lot of people noticed the difference.
this morning i tried the bluetooth once again with some EDM music, the bass is horrible! if there's no option via USB/wire, i'll go back to iPhone. i always listen to music when i'm driving via my phone. Bluetooth is a no no for me.

I have a 2013 non ML model and it sounds the same to me. Make sure the volume on your phone is cranked all the way up.

I just bought a USB jump drive and copied all my music on there. I think new versions of Android no longer allow for you to use the phone as a storage device regarding car audio/MP3s. I haven't been able to do that with mine for at least a year or two now. Stupid move IMO
