I have Akebonos on an fsport rwd with the original two piece rotors with about 20k miles on the pads and while the dust is gone, these pads do sequel when cold... It's always the first stop before there's any heat but after that they're silent. Initially very embarrassing as it's always when leaving a parking lot lol, but i stopped caring awhile ago. Performance wise they're certainly not as good as stock; the cold bite is very good, maybe better but If you ever have to go deep into the pedal in a panic stop, it's a huge difference, they just don't have the same stopping power. So a bit of a mixed bag because of the cold behavior but I'd never go back to the stock pads, cleaning rims every 3 days for the birds.

I bet you would go back to the stock pads if you plowed deep into the rear of someone because you couldn't stop in time, possibly injuring/killing someone, totaling a couple vehicles and being sued for a few million dollars...just to keep some brake dust off your wheels. Or at least you should!

I can live with the dust, did so with my last 3 BMW's, if that's the trade off for having OEM to Akebono Ceramics.

Other than one anecdote, is there any indication that Akebono Ceramic pads are causing accidents because they can't stop in time? Was the guy in the M3 using Akebono pads? The reviews on this site and on Amazon for Akebono are almost universally positive.

Has anybody used the Lexus Factory F Sport pads?

they're very mediocre, lots of dust, once in awhile there'll be sound, good initial bite but when you brake at higher speeds (around >180 kmh) the car starts to vibrate since the brake pads can't really handle the heat. Overall good pads for everyday driving. I'd suggest you to get any good aftermarket pads though haha

Mine were okay for about a week and then started squealing like a pig in heat. Took them out and sprayed them down and brushed them off and reinstalled....still sounded like an angry pig. I"ve been driving now for about 2k and it still does this. I can also hear the pads clunk around a little bit over bumps. Going to try using some new pad clips to see if it's the problem.

Are you on RWD or AWD? As far as the eye can see, no one makes slotted or drilled rotors for the RWD F. If you have a source, please let us know.

I have an AWD F Sport, my buddy at the shop ordered them so I'm not sure what brand they are. I'll see if i can get some info on them.

Great info! The OEM pads will cover your wheels with dust within a day of washing your car, doesn't seem like you could ever enjoy it. I'm approaching 20k, so it looks like i'll be headed the Akebono route.

I've had centric, duralast, and now akebono on my gs.. The akebono's are far superior than either the two. Duralast were the worst, centric's were ok but didn't bite as good as the akebonos

3 months on the Akebono's and I'm incredibly happy with them. Very low dust and great stopping power. Zero noises.

When changing your pads out, I highly recommend you get your rotors turned as well.
