Ok I'll rephrase, its more than 99.9% of us can use outside of race tracks. 400hp is no different than 300hp sitting in traffic or going from stop light to stop light. Then again, I'm not one that would go and tell everyone how fast my car is. I do agree the 2L Turbo is underpowered, especially for this class of cars.

The thing is when u need that power it's not there. Or it's there but like after a few seconds of delay. This is a big problem with cars with CVT too, u can have gobs of power but once u lift off the gas and gun it again it takes a few secs before it start punching again.

My 2000 Camry LE with the 2.2L can barely get out of it's own way. Not kidding. I always have to make sure I have enough room to pass people because it will take a very long time to get up the speed to do it if you are on the highway or 2 lane road. It was rated I believe 133 hp or something like that. It's a reliable engine, but it is not made to have power. So any car I get, will definitely have a V6 or at least 200 hp minimum to get around.

Lol no doubt. I had an 89 Accord that'd blow the doors off the 92 Camry I drove years later. The Camry was a dog, you'd have to plan ahead to keep from getting run over. One day on a service road a cop trap caught me by accident when it was a car on my left running 20 over the limit from a dead stop about 500 yards behind us. They jumped in front of the car and waved me in. I said bro, look at this car, it's a 4 cylinder. I'd be happy to make that speed from the stoplight, but it was the other guy that had 3 lengths on me you should have caught. He thought about it a second, looked at the car, and said, OK, you're right, drive safely, and cut me loose with no paperwork.

I could never use that excuse in the GS.

54 Ford Customline. Effectively a 2-speed Automatic, 130hp, engine very tired. Merging is something that must be carefully planned ahead.

you dont pass people when you have a slow car. unless you want to be the guy that passed someone in the fast lane and is now barely doing 45mph on an incline.

The GS 200t would be a good city driving car where comfort and better gas mileage are benefits you are concerned about, but the moment you get on that highway on ramp you will realize through all of the engine screaming that you should have ponied up the extra buck and went for the V6.

the 4 cyl is lighter so it is more agile when cornering. if it wasnt mentioned already.

You would think so, but the 200t is about 75lbs heavier than 350. Hehe

Whenever I drive the CT I always build a solid momentum before going uphill. I saw a dude in a Prius C gunned hard from the bottom and he just passed everybody on the hill. Cause once u lose momentum mid-hill in this car, it's a disaster.

Its actually fine on the highway and has enough power. It actually goes pretty well when mashing the throttle on the highway. Its on local streets that makes it frustrating with the lag and slow pick up.
