Default Fsport brake rotor replacement?

My GS350 has 23k on it and getting a slight vibration when braking. I switched to Akebono pads at 1500 for less dusting. Other than OEM or BBK, what is available for our cars?

A company called Centric makes rotors for the GS. Ive never used them personally.

Seems a bit fast to replace rotors at 23k miles, no?

How do u like the Akebono pads?

For the Fsport no one makes it, Centric shows the part number but they will never make it, I have already called the main guys at Technical department its a 2 pc rotor and ur best option is dealer only 43516-30061(L ) and 43512-30371 (R ) its about $298 each.

Are you referring to AWD or RWD?

Yes, 23k is definitely early for rotor replacement but I remember several members were complaining about this as well. This is for rwd btw.

Love the Akebonos, much less dust than the oems.

Do you ever take your car through the car wash when the brakes are hot? This can warp rotors a lot faster.

Yes u are correct, that's the worst thing to do and some ppl don't think that would hurt the rotors but it will clean it better, wronnngg.

I have never ran my car through a car wash. Hand wash every time and it's always early in the morning before the sun comes up.

Thats BS on the car wash on hot rotors. I have done it many times already with hot rotors and ran it thru the car wash and my rotors are still perfect with over 38k miles and haven't even changed my pads or rotors and tires yet. My tires are still at 5/32 tread left and the brakes and rotors will last me past 50k at least...

For a lot of cars brake rotors are considered consumables. On some of the cars have owned and driven you replace the brake rotors every other time you change the pads.

23K for rotors on a RWD F Sport is not abnormal and yes, they're expensive.

If it's an AWD F-Sport then the brakes are the same as regular and Lux GS.

Dealer just told me I'm due for new pads and that the rotors might need to be replaced at 33k. I bought the car with 31k and assume these are the original brakes on the car, a 2014 F-Sport RWD.

The service advisor said the rotors are too low to resurfaced and that it wold take them below spec.

I'm having trouble believing the rotors need to be replaced especially since there's no vibration and pads still have a bit of meat on them. This thread is conflicting as well.

What do ya'll think?

Mine need to be replaced also and I'm wondering if it makes any functional difference to switch the setup over from the 2 piece rotor to a 1 piece rotor. I have found several one piece rotors online at CarID that say they fit so I'm curious to know what cons there are in going that route .
