Back in 2009 I got mine on ebay for my Infiniti M35. I bought the pads as well and drove with them until I sold the car in 2012 with zero problems. I got them for both front and rear. Took them to my local mechanic and he charged me 80 bucks to swap news ones out. I'm glad I did at that time because one of my old rotors where warped.

Agreed with other posters to go with OEM Lexus rotors. If you want to save a few bucks and go with a quality aftermarket brand, go with Centric-brand rotors.

To answer your question drilled holes in rotors are to increase the heat dissipating surface area of the disc, allow gases from the pad to escape when it's really hot (keeping more of the pad in solid contact with the disc) and promote airflow through the vanes to again help with heat dissipation. Slots in rotors are to shave away the brake pads to remove glazing and also allow gases to escape.
Both have their downsides, drilling ( but not dimpling ) introduces micro stress cracks into the rotor if not done properly which can lead to bigger cracks when the disc heats up and will reduce the usable surface area of the rotor; if you're not taking advantage of gas venting on overheating pads is a net loss. Slots shave away your brake pads reducing pad life and increasing brake dust, reduce usable surface area on the rotor and make a whirring sound while braking; i enjoy it, but i love supercharger whine as well.
My suggestion, stay with the 2 piece Lexus oem. In theory they should be lighter than a solid brake disc which reduces your unsprung weight making your suspension react quicker to road inputs giving you better handling.
In practice, because Lexus is known for quality I bet they're very heavy for reliability purposes and don't really save much weight but I haven't weighed them myself to know

I had drilled and slotted rotors on all my GS with EBC red ceramic pads and didnt have any problems. I currently have a bbk kit on my Fsport with drilled and slotted rotors with no issues.

Sorry to hijack thread but I too am interested in upgrading my brakes to aftermarket. I am doing it because there is noticable rust on my brakes not on the disc part but where the bolts come out to meet the wheel. When I install my RCF forged wheels you can clearly see the rust which is ugly. Is there any stainless steel disc brakes that do not have slots and drill holes? Does oem have stainless steel versions?

I had StopTech big brake kit on my 13 GS & loved them. Will most likely be doing them again on my 16..
