Question Should I keep or cancel this pre-paid service contract?

I recently leased a GS 350. The only item F&I lady really pushed was pre-paid service contract for 3 routine services (15k, 20k, 25k). The total cost was $370. However, I can cancel the contract within 60 days and get a full refund.

This is my first Lexus lease; hence I am not very familiar with cost of routine service at Lexus dealerships. Should I keep or cancel this contract? Please advise.

Ur only getting oil change at 10k and 20k and the rest are just inspections. Oil change worth about $100 each, sometimes $70 with coupon. I skip my 5k services and go straight to 10k one. They inspect ur car too even if u only get oil change.

First 2 services (5k and 10k) are free, so $370 for only 1 oil change is kinda high.

I got the 5,000 and 10,000 mile included in my lease and I have to pay for the 20,000 which is just an oil change. I may just do a 15,000 mile oil change to, I don't know about going 10,000 between oil changes? On the other hand, if it blows up, it is covered under warranty, lol

It's a lease...so why would you change the oil more often than the manual states? I might kinda understand if you owned the car, but why do something extra for a car you'll return in a few years?!

Like others have said, the 5K and 10K are included on all new Lexus. I skipped the 15K on my last GS because it was just inspections and no tire rotations due to staggered setup. I would probably suggest returning the plan.

I would cancel it. Doesn't seem like it's worth the money.

Maintenance plan on a Toyota is rarely needed cause they're cheap. I'd choose warranty over a maintenance plan.

For the Germans u need both.

My advice would be to call your local dealerships and get a quote on the services. I did that yesterday and made a nice little excel spreadsheet. Some dealers wanted 116 for 15k some wanted 377 they averaged around 320 for 20k. It may be worth to keep, but remember the finance cost on top of it. Also, you should check if you get that money back or does it go back to the lender.

oh and I am leasing too..

That's really not a bad price for having those 3 services done. I had the 15k service done at North Park Lexus and it was $158. Some will say that's too much money for just checking stuff, but I'm over doing car maintenance. My time is worth more than that.
