Default Replace Premium amp with Mark Levinson

Hi all,

I bought the 4GS with Premium sound. Do you know if can swap out the premium amp with a Mark Levinson one, and everything would still work? I looked at the connectors, seems like the Mark Levinson has an extra set.

Thanks...
Xin

The premium sound really isn't that bad and it's also less prone to breaking.. like speakers getting blown and what not. You may notice a difference between the two, but to be honest it wasn't a huge difference for me. If you want to improve the sound quality.. you're going to have to spend big. Better off to just throw a quality sub in the back and be done with it because you can just have the speakers focus on the highs and mids and leave the lows for the sub.

It's a really big pain in the *** if you're thinking about trying to upgrade your premium sound to the ML

I think from low to medium volumn there is no difference between a premium or mark levinson audio.but once you crank the volume beyond #38 you can tell a big difference. I tested a High quality audio recording on both systems and can tell a huge difference at high volumes. Those who tell you other wise is either not audiophiles or they are in denial and just jealous of those who does have mark levinson.

If you already have a premium audio just add aftermarket decoder converter amps and some speakers and a sub will do wonders to your audio without having to go aftermarket with your head unit.

38 is pretty damn high lol. Most people wouldn't have it all the way up there anyways. I never get close so doesn't make a difference for me.

Yup, have the ML option and to be honest it doesn't blow me away. Id put the money into an aftermarket solution.

Premium to mark levinson, I heard both. The mark levinson at higher volume will give u an overall better sound. Jus like prinny said add a sub and your sound will be noticeably better. Unlike me, I changed everything. Also volume 38 ain't that loud

It is just "sound" nice with the ML logo stamped on your car (it is exclusive to Lexus YEAH!!!) but honestly... I don't think many people can tell the difference for everyday use or unless you are musician or have perfect pitch hearing? (not sure if that's the correct terms)

Spend your money on aftermarket will be better for sure, could be cheaper, and don't think you can locate a ML system easy

PS... volume 38 I don't even go over 20 LOL
