New Tires on GS 350 F Sport RWD
#31
I got Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3's and love them. changed the bridgestones at 25k. I live in atlanta and was going to get the Super Sports but i noticed that with summer tires and our georgia winter temperatures you lose a lot of grip when the tires are cold. Theyre essentially bricks below 35 deg. So all season tires were my choice for the daily commutes.
I went wider in size too. My RWD configuration: front - 245/40/19 rear- 275/35/19. much more planted, smoother, quieter, all around improvement. No change in speedometer reading.
Bought them from Discount Tire store, they beat everyone's prices.

i know 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 are the usually recommended sized up tires for the stock GS350 fsport wheels with no drop...but does anyone know if you can run thicker/wider tires on the stock rims without rubbing or other issues (minus the speedometer being off)?

I'd love some Pilot Super Sports, but $1200 for a set is hard to stomach. I'm leaning towards the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2's. They rank well on TireRack. All of 90% of the Super Sports. Here.
Sale on eBay right now means you can get a set for $750. Code: CTIRES416.
Any reason not to pull the trigger?

I have the Michelin Premier A/S on my 2000 Camry, and they are awesome tires. Very quiet, smooth, and they grip well in the wet/dry/snow.

13GS, I am thinking of running the same sizes that you are running, so I can find a matching set of All Season tires. I can't find All Season tires that match my 2015 GS350 F Sport (RWD)'s staggered sizes of 235/40/19 front and 265/35/19 rear. How are those "plus" sizes working out for you? Any rubbing or other adverse effects during hard cornering or high speeds? Has the dealership complained that you aren't running OEM sizes?

fronts 245/40/19 and rear 275/35/19. no rubbing, no issues. dealer doesnt care as long as you dont have the wheel/tire warranty from them. they only fix it typically if its the same tire size. I know mercedes does that.
theyre expensive, but its gonna cost you to wear nice shoes Definitely more grip and better handling overall. Go for the michelin pilot sport AS/3s. I bought mine from discount tire. You can also buy them from Tire rack and have a local shop install them.

the wheels are factory. I simply put a wider tire on there. No issues whatsoever.

In an earlier post, "shiveng" stated that he is running 245/40-19 front and 275/35-19 rear on Lexus factory rims on his RWD setup with no problems. When it comes time to replace my OEM 235/40-19 fronts and 265/35-19 rears and still no one is making All Season tires in those OEM sizes, I will try the increased width tires in Michelin Pilot AS3+. It would sure have made tire selection easier if Lexus had not put an oddball pairing of tires on the staggered sized GS350 F Sports (RWD). Mostly, it seems to be the front tire size that is the oddball with fewer selections available than the rear size.
