Default DIY GS-F, possible?

Just a thought.... I'm wondering if it would be possible to drop an IS-F V8 in the 4GS 350?

I'm thinking that it would be alot cheaper to convert the GS350 to GS-F rather than spend money on superchargers that are not stable or buy the GS-F.

The engine bay is big enough. Plus, if you get lucky you can find an IS-F engine for under $7,000 + the transmission, another $3,000.

I'm just not sure about the ecu???

I mean, if that's even remotely possible, I think you can easily make your own GS-F for under $15,000?

You can sell your engine and transmission to cover some of the cost too.

Again not sure, but perhaps the ECU from the GS-F can be used?

Why stop there? Shoehorn a V10 in that sucker. One and only GS-FA.

But seriously, I imagine it'd be a chore. I was following an ISx50 to IS-F build here a while back and the miles of wiring was traumatic to look at. I don't think they ever completed the swap either...

Dooable...but extremely difficult

You would need a GS F donor car to transfer it all..

For example an IS C in NorCal successfully shoe horned an IS F Motor, Trans & driveline.
The only IS F "C" in the Unites States

But they had an IS F donor car (totaled) to transfer all the parts, harnesses, multiple ECU's and even down to the key fob functionality ECU's to start the car.

Short answer.. By the GS F

Yea u'll probably spend more $$$ to get the parts and do the swap and tune than getting a new GS F. Plus it comes with a warranty.

I totally agree! Save TIME, MONEY, TROUBLE and HEADACHE!! Go buy the real deal and it has warranty and all the extra upgrade with a real 2016 GS F. GS350 FSPORT is 58K MSRP. You wanted to add on about 10-15k to convert it to GS F . I think the real GS F is around 70k. Looks like its better to buy the real one.

Why buy a brand new car for this conversion? You can find an 13' with miles for around $28K. Add another $15K - $20K in parts and you have the GS-F. Which would probably come out to $30K less.
