Just had the wheels and callipers painted

Hi, I decided, whilst the rims were getting refinished to have the callipers professionally sprayed on my UK spec GS300h F Sport. Given the car is all black (including black wrap on the chrome trim) I decided on yellow (!) for the callipers. Ok, red has been done to death and I wanted something other than black hence the yellow. The shop also painted the disc hubs jet black as they were looking more grey than black. The callipers were removed, cleaned and polished, painted and finally lacquered before reassembly. The only hurdle the shop encountered was how to put the car into neutral (it's an e-CVT transmission) and power off the engine as normally you can only power off with the car in park (which naturally applies the brake). Solution: the brake release button underneath the handbrake 'Hold' switch.

Here are some phone pics whilst sat on my driveway. Some of the shots appear to show marks / scuffs on the rims but it's just light or tyre lubricant as the rims were refinished with the tyres off in order to do them properly. Sorry that the only photos so far are close ups.

time to get some black lug nuts?

Looks awesome man, def need most pics!

This is the best thing about the GS imo, not only is it low maintenance, but a touch here and a touch there mod wise and you got yourself a neck turner.

Don't get me wrong, from factory it looks great, especially the F-Sport (*ducks, runs then hides), but a painted bumper or even onyx emblem change the whole car up.

And yes, you need black lug nuts homey.

Yeah I think yellow looks good too...been seeing that look on ferrari as well. I think even orange might be another decent option against the black rims. In addition to the black lug nuts you gotta get that ride lowered :)

Thanks for the comments guys. I hadn't thought about black lug nuts. Is there a specific size for the GS? As for lowering the car I always thought it looked ok but now with the painted calipers it, strangely, looks like it could do with dropping 25mm or so 😐. I don't want to kill the GS's ride quality but dropping it would look cool.😎

Trust me, didn't want to lose ride quality either, but I've never regretted getting lowering springs.

I got the tanabes and I love them.

I got tanabes as well and I love the look with 15/20 mm spacers.

I noticed you and others have the Lexus decal on the painted calipers. The GS-F has the F on the calipers and was curious if you considered maybe F Sport on the calipers. Not sure if anyone has done that yet

Very nice, i like the black wheels! very unique! as for dropping do mild drop and ride quality won't be affected too much. I like my drop and ride quality is only a little harder.
