In order to lift your wipers properly, you need to put them in winter mode first. Just grab one of them, and pull it up, don't lift it, just pull it. You will hear a click and your wipers will move about an inch up, you can then safely lift them without ruining your paint. When you done messing around, just push them back in.

About your windshield. I think it was probably replaced, and whoever did that job should have his hands broken.

Every time I would wash my car I would pull them up off the windshield. A few months in I finally looked closer and realized I'd been scratching the edge of the hood. SMH!!!

The day my service guy did this to dry the windshield I cringed. But that's just how they work, you gotta apply a decent amount of force.

That's great. I thought my wipers sat a little high on my windshield. Just went out to the garage and changed the position after watching this video. Looks much better in the lower position. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, great tip! Definitely not something that was shown to me or even anything that would be apparent without actually knowing this was how the wipers function. Thank goodness I found this before trying to lift my wipers without popping them up first.

Quick Reply: when you guys lift your wipers do they touch the hood?
