Purchase a Used GS - Sources where one could buy from
Hey guys!
I am considering buying a Lexus and am tied between an ES and a GS. I test drove them both recently and would love to get the GS, but it is slightly outside my budget.
Can you guys recommend any sources where I can buy lets say a 2013 GS in excellent condition? I do keep my cars for a long time so would prefer something with fewer miles.
One thought I had was to reach out to somebody who is towards the end of the term on their lease and and may be turning it in. Is there a place where I can find somebody like that?
Are there any websites that some of the more seasoned buyers on this forum purchase from?
Is buying at an dealer only auction a possibility?
I am sure I can benefit from the combined expertise of the people on this forum. Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks!

I used cars.com but wanted the security of having a Lexus CPO car, that way I could be assured that the car would be in near-new condition when I received it, and that they would be there to take care of issues, regardless of where I was in the USA.

As many have said, cars.com, autotrader.com, edmunds possibly, kbb, craigs list, most of these sites have apps which i religiously use.
You can also find nicer cars at Lexus websites. What nice about Lexus websites and auto trader is they have CarFax available for most if the listings.
Another mothod is go on lease swap and lease trader, even thought the sites design for leases, you can buy a car from anyone at a very good price, since most folks do put down a nice payment . As you can see options up to wazooo!!

I have also signed up on swapalease.com, but seems like most people have quite a lot of months remaining on their lease. For that price it may make more sense to just negotiate with a dealership.
You mentioned that you can buy a car from somebody towards the end of their lease. How would one go about finding or reaching out to those folks?

Thanks for the information. I did look on cars.com. I will also check out AutoTrader.com.

The leaseswap or lease trader, see who has the least amount of months left. Also, just bc they have many month left doesnt mean its a bad deal, you need to look at the whole payout. Contact the seller and ask for the 10day payoff!! That will tell you the price of the car.

Lexus dealers usually cross post their CPO and used vehicles on the aforementioned websites like autotrader and cars. that's where i've been looking mostly. waiting for the color combination and features that i want to show up within a 200mi radius.

Wouldn't it be great if other members could also post anything that may be selling or turning in at the end of their lease. It would be a win-win. Member turning in may not have to pay any overages and the buyer would get a good deal.
