Default Daytime Running Lamps + Headlamps Operation Question

I have been trying to figure out how to set the car so that the daytime running LED lamps are always on (without the interior dashboard lamps on), but with the headlamps operated manually. Is this possible? I am tired of the headlamps coming on in my garage when I start the car during the day for only the first 10 seconds in the auto mode.

I seem to be able to turn both the daytime running lamps and headlamps off, or I can turn the daytime running lamps on with headlamps on auto. There is one position on the stalk that turns on the daytime running lamps but also turns the interior dashboard lamps on, so I am not a fan of that one either.

I had the same issue with my parking garage. What works for me is I just turn the stalk to the parking light position right before I shut the car off at night and leave it there during the day. The lights will automatically turn off when you shut the car off and open the drivers door. I drive during the day with the stalk in the parking light position. That way when I'm entering/exiting my parking garage my lights won't automatically turn on like in the auto position. The only time I move the stalk to headlights or auto is when it's dark outside, otherwise I leave it in the parking light mode. The interior dash lights and Nav screen auto adjust with the light sensor even with the parking lights on. Does that make sense?

I think u can delay the auto headlights and even turn it off completely with the Carista App. U can even disable the DRL.

Thanks, does the backlighting in all of the buttons stay on for you when you use the parking light position and are driving around?

I don't think so. Everything changes with the light sensor as far as I can tell. I can still read the temp on the climate controls etc. Try it out.

OK, so I've tried this, and when I turn off the car, I get a warning chime that my lights are on.

mine shut off after I turn off the car and open the drivers door. no message about the lights being on.

Should be something like: parking lights on while driving > park car > turn car off > open drivers door > lights automatically turn off

If you move the light switch after turning the car off I think it will give you a message saying your lights are on.
