Did anyone know this was a panel that flipped up?! This is where the Mark Levinson logo would be. I had no clue, this was a total shock to see.

I just discovered that my '12 350 Fsport has headlight washer jets. I was demonstrating to my wife how Lexus put a button in my car that does nothing and how I'll use it for an air horn. I've always had the button but they never seemed to have worked. Turns out the headlights have to be on!

You can temporarily disable the smart keys
There have been a lot of reports of people stealing cars with smart keys by using a pair of radio transmitters. The first thief stands near your house and amplifies the radio signal from your key. That signal is relayed to the other thief's radio who is standing next to your car. They can then just start up the car as if the key were right there and drive away.
Some people are putting their smart keys in their freezer to block the signal, but Lexus has a way better solution already in place!
You can turn off the smart key by simply holding the lock button and pressing the unlock button 2 times (while holding lock). If it's successful, the key flashes the led 4 times. That completely thwarts any type of radio attack described above. And to use the key again, just press any button and it instantly works like before.
The instructions are buried very deep in the user manual but I think it works for every Lexus with a smart key.
That's my favorite "secret" feature =)

Yeah, I may be one of the few people who don't think the control pad is that bad and can actually be used while my attention is on the road but I don't use it that much and I turn the screen off a lot. I just wish there was a dedicated button or button combo to turn the screen off. They could have used the tuner **** press to turn it off if it had the depress funtion like the volume **** does to mute.

Same here SNiiP3R - I have a 2013 GS450h and there is no detent/kickdown switch behind the gas pedal. I've punched the car several times both in gear and while parked/in neutral. I even tried to look with a flashlight, but I couldn't see anything.
My case might be different since I have a hybrid, but it's just odd that some GS350's have it and others don't. I, too, would have guessed F-Sport vs Non-Sport.

Silence the trunk beep sound
I had to drive with the trunk tied shut with a microwave and some IKEA shelves sticking out the back, and the car beeped continuously for half an hour.
I stopped, and eventually jammed the power cord for the microwave into the lock for the trunk and the beeping stopped.
Very nice to know.
