Default Any suggestions - on keeping rims easy to clean

Any suggestions on coating the rims to keep brake dust from sticking which requires constant scrubbing or it will get caked on? I have the 9 spoke rims which means there are about 18 triangles thus 54 corners on each rim to wipe in order to keep them clean. Still would need to do that but trying to avoid doing it each time I clean the car. Would be nice to just have to rinse the rims instead of scrubbing.

I have considered doing a carnuba waxing but thought I would pose the question to the forum before doing anything.

This may work. I used it before but the smell is too strong for me. I got myself this. It makes it real easy to clean the wheels.

Armor All wheel protectant, spray can sold pretty much everywhere. I use it on my cars, never had an issue with staining. Dust wipes right off the wheels now

You can try using this
http://www.detailersdomain.com/Wolfs-Chemicals-WR-1NT-Rim-Shield_p_530.html
I have had good results it beads and protects the rim from a lot of cake dust it usually just washes right off.

I have used that as well, but just got tired of putting it on every few weeks or so. But it does work.

The sonax that bnlexus recommended is amazing - but overkill for regular cleaning. If your wheels are coated with baked on dust, sonax will almost certainly get rid of it. But for regular cleaning, you are wasting money.

Work on preventing the dust from sticking too much - The rim shield that bigblack06 suggested is good (or use Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 - one coat should last years) . Less dust/brake dust will stick, and whatever sticks will wash off easily.

i used collinite 845 and it works great. Been six months and all the brake dust comes off with the spraying of water.

I just had this put on my Audi SQ5 wheels, it is simply amazing. Detailer told me it should last 18 months. Only cost me $25 for them to install.
