Default Newbie ready to Mod up my 350

Just bought a 2013 with 10K miles on it. Looks new with Pearl White and Flaxen. Love it. However the 12 speaker stereo sucks IMO, replacing all door speakers with Rockford Fosgate P165s. Next some lowering springs from Tanabe to drop it about an inch. Then lighted door sills oh and some window tinting. And clear film for the front. Looking forward to long and happy relationship with this baby.

and one question, anyone sell like a vinyl wrap or something to black out the bumper between the upper and lower grill?

I think that has to be custom made by the tint/vinyl shop.

Since u mentioned 12 speaker stereo, I'm guessing yours isn't an FSport?

Post some pics man, I wanna see this beauty.

Is the 12 speaker system the premium system? I'm trying to get a handle on the audio. There is ML and premium. Is there anything else or is the premium system the 12 speaker?

Yes the 12 speaker is the premium system. ML has 17 speakers I think.

I do have the FSport with the Premium system. There are only two Premium and the ML. The ML is a $1700 option and has 17 speakers and 834 watts however there are large sections of this forums that say even the ML is not the greatest. Do not get me wrong the Premium is a pretty good system but if you are used to better it sucks. It is all very subjective. For the average person the Premium is a great system, I am just not average. If the sub does not have at least 500W then it is not for me.

Since when is 500w a requirement for a lot of bass? I've built systems on 200w that were quite loud... it's all in the efficiency of the sub and the box.

you sound like you enjoy car audio a bit... if that is the case I wouldn't recommend Rockford door speakers, there are waaaaay better components out there, especially in that price range.

I personally like the ML system a lot. However my experience with it is in the older version in the 2007 LS460. I believe the newer version in the GS350 has a lot more power. The problem is that it is hard to find many models with the ML system.

True what you said.

I am open to suggestions on better components, would appreciate your input!

I've owned quite a few different sets over the years... my favorites were by Hybrid Audio. I had their Clarus Components. After having those I'll never buy another brand, but they were $550 I think. They also have the Legatia line that is about $1000, but they're pretty much the best you can get. I'm sure other speakers sound good too, but these days Hybrid sweets auto sound competitions. They have the Imagine lineup as well that also sounds fantastic (I also owned those), and those are in the $200 neighborhood.

If you're curious, check out the owner, Scott Buwalda's Infiniti. It holds the record for the highest scoring car in IASCA history. He's also one hell of a nice guy. I had a problem with one of my tweeters (due to an idiotic shop employee who couldn't figure out a wiring diagram) so I called the number on Hybrid's website for support and Scott answered the phone himself and chatted with me for about 20 minutes. I've never experienced customer service like that before.

My second favorite would be the Rainbow components I had. The Rainbow Soundline is in the $200 range as well and they're an excellent component set.
