Do I have Rear Cross Traffic Alert?
I just purchased an 2013 GS350 with ML audio, luxury package, cold weather, nav etc. I love it! It's a huge step up from my 2008 Civic EX-L.
Someone at the dealership said I have rear cross traffic alert but I can't actually tell if I do. If I have BSM does that mean I automatically have RCTA or were they both separate options? I tried to get RCTA to trigger by having my SO drive by behind me as I was in reverse but nothing happened. He drove by around 5MPH while I really slowly backed out/just stayed in reverse. Nothing worked. There doesn't seem to be a RCTA light or anything that I could see on the dash or monitor either.
Could someone help me out here? Thank you!

You can test it like this, sit in the parking lot and put it in Rear, and wait until another car start to approach perpendicular to you, if it beeps and the side mirrow will flash then you have a crsoss alert

Well, that would be a no for me then. I'm annoyed at my Lexus dealership. It didn't seem like they know the cars very well. We sat in the car for 10 minutes trying to get the DVD movie to playback audio and he never figured it out.
Whatever, I got a really great deal on my car.

That's a huge step up from a Civic. I came from a loaded Camry and it's nothing compared to this.

Haha, well I was planning on keeping the Civic for a few more years because I travel 75% of the year for my job. My SO got a Cadillac ATS though and that's when it went all downhill for my Civic. Every time I got back in my Civic after driving or riding in the Cadillac made me hate it. I'm really happy with this Lexus. It's a huge step up from my "fully loaded" Civic.

Not on the 2013... This was a big hit for me too. Had a rental ES350 from the dealership that was basic and even that had Crossing Traffic Alert. If I have park assist then I should have crossing traffic alert as well. It's upsetting.
We need a program hack, you know that car can do it. It just needs the program installed or unlocked I bet, haha. The sensors are there.
Disappointing to say the least

wgu8213, The DVD will play when the car is in park AND the parking brake is on.
Audio from a DVD (movie or DVD audio disc) will play while moving.
