Just a little rant. It sounds like someone put a crappy PA mic to my Iphone's speaker and it's broadcasting inside my car. I went to the "secret" settings to try to adjust the quality of the handsfree speakerphone sound, no dice.

My 2011 Acura Handsfree had better speakerphone quality, by far. This is pathetic, for a $50K+ car. Any chance for updates/fixes/upgrades?

100% agree... Just got a 2014 and its still awful!!

I had a 98 and an 08 before my 14, both previous GSs had very natural sounding speakers for phone. My 14 sounds like it is coming out of a tweeter which means all bass and mid range sounds are clipped off leaving only a tinny sound like a couple of kids communicating with two tin cans. By the way, I had the low end audio on the 98 and the high end on the 08 and 14, but I don't think that makes any difference on phone speaker quality.

Surely this is something fixable if enough people complain. Right now it's the only significant problem I have with the new car.

The IS has the new NAV that you can say the whole address but I wonder if the voice recognition stinks too.

My Genesis had much better sound quality regarding phone. Also do not like that there is no voice command to suspend route guidance.

coming from a bimmer that had a very good sounding speakerphone - the first time I used the one in the lexus, I was surprised at the lower quality and thought it sounded very tinny to me, but I got used to it. people do not have a hard time understanding me, and I can understand them fine. my current 2014 fusion has a better sounding hands free phone system then the one in my gs. if it makes you all feel any better the one in my buddies newer cls550 is terrible almost unusable imo. you would think with all this tech stuff, they could have got the hands free in our cars dialed in a better. (I do have ta 2014 with the ML sound system) voice recognition works fine for me, have not had any issues with it understanding me.

The high tinny sound makes it hard to hear some words clearly. Talking with my gf today there was a lot of "what? I didn't hear you could you say that again?" There needs to be some proper sound adjustment.

i wonder if they can fix all this with a software update of some sort? on the ford sync system I was able to update my car via the website and a usb stick, same thing with the bimmer. not sure if lexus does it this way, or if it requires a dealer visit.

Somebody mentioned in another thread where there's a possibility of a NAV- Firmware-Software upgrade to 2014 specs for the 2013 "Beta Testers" such as myself.

Maybe there's a remedy to our "First World Problem"?

well ill be at the westminister lexus event if anybody wants to compare their 2013 to 2014 electronics. its sounds like the BT is worse on the 2013's.

I have a fresh off the boat 2014 and the sound when using the phone is tinny and awful.
