An Equal Test : 3.6L NA vs 3.5L NA (CTS 3.6 vs GS350)
Comparison Test: 2014 Cadillac CTS 3.6 AWD vs. 2014 Lexus GS 350 AWD
Lengthy but interesting and detailed comparison between the Normal Aspirated mid-size sedans of both companies : CTS 3.6 vs the GS350.
FYI, the CTS was much more expensive than the comparably equipped GS yet still lost the comparo.

I posted this comparo in response to an earlier comparison that in its great wisdom, decided to pit a 550i/S6/E550 segment car( CTS-V Sport) vs a 535i/E400/A6 3.0T segment car( GS350) :

It’s easy to assume the Lexus – especially in this “Luxury Package” trim and not fitted with the F-Sport’s variable suspension – would be the soft, roly-poly competitor in this test. And while the Lexus’ ride is notably better (the Cadillac was prone to crash uncomfortably over some of the nasty winter-borne pot holes and frost heaves we encountered), it is in no way a slouch in the handling department. Showcasing the efforts the engineers put into the GS’s suspension development, the Lexus maintains remarkable control for such a comfortable machine on the twisty bits of road.
Having proven to us at Autos.ca that the Lexus GS 350 is at least as good or better than the most talked about car in the category right now means it not only deserves to win this comparison test, but it also deserves to find a home in far more Canadian buyers’ garages.

I somewhat agree with their assessment of the cars, but the GS in F Sport trim (they mentioned the black one looking sinister) has a "tauter" appearance than the CTS. I do like the front of the CTS. It loses something toward the backside though.
It is really the reviews of the CUE system and the pricing that has kept me away from the dealership, although I imagine they must be heavily discounting because the local dealer has a ton of them.
