Default 2013 Lexus GS

Hey I am looking around and MAY be in a market for a new GS. What do you guys think of this and the price? What would be a good OTD Price on it?

You're in CA where the most aggressive deals in the US for cars can be found. Shop around and assume that any price you see can be easily dropped.

In the Autotrader, you can find a slightly used GS (Less than a year old, @ 10k miles) for about $40k or less. I found quite a few lease returns at the dealerships, they're slashing prices below blue book to move them. In my experience, Toyotas/Lexus still feel new, even when they're @40k miles.

Some of the other luxury makes get GS as trade-ins, also. Mine was a trade-in for a Range Rover.

Check the service record for any maintenance history. Lack of regular maintenance on lease return could lead to some issue down the road.

Looking at the car, it seems to have minimum premium options, so say about 54k or so MSRP? If the original owner got a really good deal, he/she could've gotten it for 8k+ off MSRP. So that's about 46k or so? 31k miles and almost 2 years later, it can sell for 38k? That is not a bad resale value.

Yup, that's when the reliability and quality workmanship come into play = higher resale value. For comparison, I've noticed BMWs & Audi's drop almost $7-10k per year in value (depending on model), due to bad reliability. That's why smart money dictates getting a quality certified used and/or lease return.

Actually the new A6 is holding the value just as good if not better than GS. It is IMO a better car too.(Talking about the 3L engine).
