Can trans default setting = Sport?
Is there a setting to have the transmission default setting at startup = sport (or sport+). It seems the default is ECO.

There is not. Only normal and eco modes can be "remembered".
The reason is when emission and fuel efficiency tests are done, it has to be done in the most aggressive mode that can be set as a default. If Sport+ could be a default, they'd have to test it in that mode, and the test results would be worse.

For anyone else, is there a workaround? A jumpered wire on the ECU (was able to do this on a Honda I once owned, but for a different reason), an ECU flash (rather not go this route), or some other method?

Sounds logical. Do you have a link to the EPA's fuel economy testing requirements? It would be interesting (a relative term, mind you) reading.

Has anyone checked with the dealer to see if they can set it? I know there are a handful of things they can reprogram, this might be one but may be "undocumented".

I haven't seen anything in the factory service manual documenting a setting like this, but i wish a performance company would chip our trannys. I'd love selectively firmer shifts instead of going for a permanent valve body modification.
