Cruising Range did not update after a second fill up?
I got to the gas station when I had about 50 miles left, so I decided to put $45. After the fill up the cruising range was showing 253 miles. I got out and decided to put more gas. I was able to put $10 w/ change, which was 2+ gallons. However, the cruising range never changed! It still showed 253miles, even after I turned the car off / on again. By the time I got home it was 250 miles.
I'm very surprised that the car did not see the 2 additional gallons....

maybe that 2 gallon did not trigger the sensor in the gas tank or may be a timing issue (i.e. you filled gas within a minute the range was updated and the sensor may have thought it updated already, etc...), but regardless it should have updated after a while at least.
Where is this sensor by the way? is it by the gas cap or inside the tank?

Pole Position
Pretty sure the only sensor involved is the same fuel level sensor that drives the fuel gauge. When you turn on the ignition with significantly more fuel in it than when it was shut off, it refreshes the range calculation. There's a note in the manual that it won't do that if you only add a "small" amount of fuel, or if the ignition is on while refuelling. How much a "small" amount is, isn't defined.
