Brake noise.....Should I get new brake pads?
My VIN falls outside of the range in TSB for the brake noise fix. So, it will be hard for me to convince my dealership to apply the TSB.
I had this exact problem on my 3GS, and all I did was switched to Akebono pads, drove for 5,000m without a problem. Then of course my car got flooded.
I don't know if I should get the Akebono pads again, perhaps there are better pads that are dustless and noise free? Could anyone recommend any other brands ?
Thanks

Same here. Had this a while back. They were able to re-produce it but told me it was part of the "high performance" brake system. It's normal to squeak. I was so irritated but decided to give up after having the car at the dealership a few days. Fortunately after a while it went away on its own. It really sucked and was kind of embarrassing too when you're pulling a 50K+ car out and it squeaked. Sorry my post is not very helpful. Keep us updated. It may come back to bite me again.
