No way $10k off on a 2014. On a 2013 with the rebates, its not impossible...

Hi to everyone-new to the forum.....
I recently (within the past week) took delivery of a GS 350 F-Sport. Really like the car.
I come from the Toyota Family, having worked at the VP/Staff Level position(s) for a Regional office. My other car is a 2012 Highlander Limited, went with the Highlander instead of the RX because of the D pillar design that allows more space for our dog.
$10K off of a new GS not likely. The incentives are not that strong, and there is not that much margin in the car. The GS is in high demand, therefore, why would Toyota (Lexus) or Toyota/Lexus Financial Services subvent the model?
Not saying there occasionally aren't unique circumstances. 2 weeks ago I sent a friend to the local Lexus Store, They had a used 1 year old ES, that was reported new (and titled) at the time, but somehow check didn't clear or whatever. Finally after almost a year the Dealer writes it down appropriately and put its in the showroom MSPR $53K+/-, purchase for $42K, the car had less than 100 miles. Yes the warranty clock lost a year but dealer made up with 2 additional oil services.

I don't see how this could be true. The dealership would be losing money on a brand new model. It doesn't make any sense.
FYI, I ended up getting $3,500 off of my custom ordered 2014 GS. My MSRP was $59,565.
I probably could have gotten a little more off but felt that $3,500 was fair.
I had another dealer offer me $3,517 off but their dealer fee was $100 more.

Well I'm starting to think I got a great deal now lol. MSRP on my '13 F-Sport was just over $56k and I was able to work the price down to about $49k. Now keep in mind this is a lease, but I got the car in July and my payoff amount as of now is $47k. Is this an uncommon deal, and maybe i just got lucky? lol
Also, my payments are $577/month - 12k miles/year 42 months

I am in the market for a '13 in Dallas and would love to know if there is a deal like that around me.
Thanks
