Road Noise 2013 GS350 F-Sport

Is anyone experiencing excessive road noise from what sounds like the front tires ? I have a 2013 GS350 F-Sport AWD with the Bridgestone Tires, i just got the car on Friday and although i love it, I am disappointed by this noise.

Some say it's from the Bridgestone tires. Michelins are much better at less road noise.

I was afraid that may be the case but with less than 100 miles i wont be buying new tires...

praetor 09-24-13 01:48 PM

Yeah same here. But it doesn't bother me as much as it does others so I can deal with it for now.

I might try dropping tire pressure... its at 36/37 cold (40/41 hot) maybe a few psi down will help

Not being a ****, but seriously...do people realize they are buying a GS with 19" wheels/low-profile performance tires and not "normal" sized wheels/tires? All performance tires will have road noise, and the F-Sport is a performance car built to perform. I say this because you are not the first person to complain about road noise. Turn up the music and enjoy the car.

Well, it's still a Lexus, so there is nothing wrong that people expect a quiet ride. I was actually a bit disappointed during my test drive.

Tire noise with Bridgestones have been an issue for years.
You would think Toyota execs know this and would go with Michelin on all the vehicles then just some.
Now maybe Michelin can't produce enough tires for that.I don't know.

My GS is brand new, less than a week old. I can't say that I notice any excessive amount of road noise. But then again, I'm coming from a 2011 Toyota Camry, so this is thing is like a coffin in comparison :p

What everyone has said is true...the low profile performance tires will be noisier than regular tires. I have also found that Bridegstones are generally louder than other brands (I had them on my old G35 coupe, and they were noisy from day 1).

Fortunately, my GS came with Dunlops, which while noisier than Michelins, are acceptable. But, when the time comes, I will get Michelins.

Also, the type of road surface can cause excessive noise. In Florida, we have some surfaces that are a mix of tar and crushed shells...tires will scream on that!

This GS is whisper quiet compared the '12 TL SH-AWD I had. It wasn't loud, per se but it was noticeable.. I just turned up the volume on that ELS system, like I do with this wonderful ML in my GS :)

Yeah, I had these same RE010's on my G37S coupe and they are pretty loud tires. Pretty much the only option is to switch out the tires (which I have actually heard of Lexus doing). My cousin in law works for a Lexus dealer and he said a lady brought in her 1k mile new IS350 and complained that the Bridgestones were too loud and Lexus replaced them with Michelins no questions asked. This was relevant to us because he then gave us her practically new Bridgestones to put on our IS350 for free!

I'm putting on these today at the 1 step up tire size all around I have read about. All season 50k tire.

245's in front and 275" in rear. Tired of 20k tires and the Dunlops are SOOOO noisy I can't hear the passenger talk on the freeway.

I have a shop and check and adjust my alignment every 6k miles. Even wear, just short life.

I'm installing these all the way around. I'll post my review after I drive on them this evening and back to work tomorrow.

I have these and they were nice and quiet for the first 5k I drove with them on. After that I slapped on my exhaust so I can't comment on continued noise. Life has been great tho, 10k miles and still 7mm tread left all around.

Just picked up my GS350 F-sport from DT and drove it down the freeway and back and couldn't believe

how much quieter the car road noise is now. Slight hum/tire whine @ 50 mph and gone by 60mph, but not too bad.

The 245 and 275 up size looks like it gives a little more tire sticking out from the rim(very slight), but will help if you get too close to a curb parking.

NO rubbing and I even have a chin spoiler wrapped around the front.

They look great to me and are an all season, so will last longer (50k mileage warranty).
