Default OEM low profile tires / bent rims

When I bought my used Lexus from Prestige in Ramsey, NJ I didn't like the way it drove home. It was a dealer demo with 15k miles on it. I sent my Dad to a wheel alignment place and the tech. discovered that ALL 4 of my wheels had "runout" (were bent). I called the dealer, they came all the way to Cape Cod from NJ with a loaner. The agreed with my guy's diagnosis and replaced ALL 4 wheels for free. Is there a way to change the OEM tires on my GS 350 F Sport (AWD) with "thicker" tires (i.e. more rubber between the tire and the wheel). The crappy Bridestones now have 21k on them and are near the end.

This is not uncommon however the previous driver may of been a bad one. I have 245/40R19 Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires and they are slightly thicker then the standard tires and give more protection for sure.

Ahhh thanks. The guy IU spoke to at Tire Rack said I MAY be able to move up to 245/40/19 because they only add 4/10 of an inch in tire thickness. So oyou don't have any problems with it rubbing anywhere? Do you have an AWD F Sport Like I do? Does it improve the ride at all? Or change the handling? Thanks in advance

The ride is far smoother and more forgiving over the bumps and potholes. There is some slight decrease in steering response but the car tracks straight and sport + mode is still very good to use. I have AWD f-sport like you. I do however have a separate winter wheel/tire with Blizzaks LM32 245/40R19 for the winter time for optimal snow traction. No rubbing issues for me. Several guys have already done this size without issues. I buy all my tires from tire rack. I do road force balancing at special installers recommended by tire rack. I cannot accept any full balance of tire/wheel greater then 10 lbs or else the car will have a bit of vibration. Tirerack is very knowledgeable about this and will send newer tires to replace any bad tire that is defect from factory and causing greater than 10 lbs road force.
