Shutting the a/c off prior to parking is not an option and a complete inconvenience.
Maybe you have a dead stowaway somewhere in the duct lines?

The smell is only for the initial 10-15 seconds then goes away. I am doubtful that a mouse or other animal has gotten in the system.

It's just moisture left in the system from shutdown. Try running it for a few minutes on vent before shutoff and not using recirculate. Those things help, but its the nature of the beast.

found the intake. need to popup the bonnet near the wiper.

i did use the Lysol spray previously but only spay it internally. this time, i feel that it work better spraying them from the intake.

and yes, my previous Honda has this issue but got rid of it after 1 spray with Lysol in the cabin with aircon on. the Subaru did not have this issue. The smell alway come back after a while in the Lexus and looks like just need to do this once a week.

I had that stinky, musty smell in the AC of my Infiniti M35, but after 10,000 miles and 18 months with my GS there is no smell at all. I do always turn the air to recirculate after a couple of minutes. Maybe that helps.

I have the same exact issues and I'm going to bring it up to dealer's attention for 10K review. One thing of note , I never had sinus issues before and I think whatever is blowing in that initial car start is contributing to it.

I've own previous versions of the GS and this have never happened before. I hope this is just temporary as somebody suggested earlier or a permanent fix is in store.

I get the smell too for about 15 seconds at start up and only have about 1000 miles on my car. I'm gonna get it checked out at Lexus. I do keep my car extremely clean too wash and wax it about once a week. Pretty embarrassing when I have people in my car and that funky smell appears briefly.

we shouldn't have to deal with it in the first place much less having to deal with it every month.

I agree, I thought it was from leaving wet towels in my trunk after detailing my car on a hot day and they did stink when I left them in there for a couple of days but I haven't done that in a while and still get the mildew smell but only on startup, then it goes away.
