Completely different beast, This car handles better feels better on the road and also has the greatest interior I have ever seen. I think that and the navigation screen is what sold me.

I did not have a 3GS, but a coworker of mine bought a 2010 GS350 AWD on the same day I got my 2013, we ran into each other at the dealership. Both of us being car guys we've parked them next to each other and all. I drove them a couple times back in 2010, but don't remember enough to comment on the ride and drive, I will leave that to people who have come from the 3GS.

From an interior and quality standpoint there is just no comparison between the two. The 4GS feels like a full class step up inside from the 3GS to me.

In a nutshell, the 4GS addressed all the 3GS's short comings

Yes, pretty much what everyone has said. From a personal experience, there is no comparison. Ride comfort, steering stiffness, interior quality...much better than the last generation. Literally the first thing I noticed when I took a test drive was how much better the steering feel was.

Agreed, we barely drive my 450h when we go out, always take the F-sport. The 4GS interior and features blow away the 3GS and just about everything else, it drives really incredible.

Pros for the 3GS are looks, power folding mirrors and trunk.... also the GS 350 MPG is worse than the 450h (apples to oranges I know). Only if Lexus offered a GS 450h F-sport here

This was the first GS that really had to grow on me, the first 3 gens I instantly loved and wanted. This one grew on me and won't let go, I am head over heels with it...everytime we sit in that interior its like...

I wish I could add something to this thread, but I'm afraid that I will be repeating what others have said already

I posted this a little while ago after buying my 4GS. I'm sure a few will disagree with me, bust these were my observations and opinions as a prior 3GS owner

Btw, love the new car. I travel weekly for business and am in a different rental every week. I can't tell you how much I look forward to driving my Lexus when I get back on the weekends. With all that said, I am anxiously awaiting either a GSF or a coupe version of the GS.

I loved the looks of the 3GS from the day it was introduced and still do, but when I test drove it I found it very soft and disconnected from the road and thought the interior wasn't up to Lexus' standards. All it took was one drive and one look at the interior of the 4GS and I was sold.

I would say exterior looks, specially front lines, is sharper in my previous 3GS. Today I saw 3GS and it stll is a good looker. Damn beauty really,

We have an 09 OB in the family. I always like this car and planned to get one for me but then things changed and I ended up with the 4GS. I don't drive that car much to comment but as far as the looks go, as someone mentioned, there is no comparison for the interiors. The exteriors (IMO) the 3GS still looks great but yes outdated when next to the 4GS. It's still a great looking car regardless.

The interior and not the exterior got me into a 4GS.I'm not crazy about the exterior styling at all. It's ok.
Yes,the 3GS is still a nice looking car.
