Default Blue light

I barely noticed that the blue light above the speedometer dims as you slow and brightens as you accelerate after four months of owning this awesome car. Just thought that this was a pretty cool feature.

I guess you haven't seen it turn red yet?

Actually it gets more blue as mpg's go up. So if you step on the gas it dims until you let off and coast then it gets bright but as you step on the gas it dims as mpg's go down as you step on the gas. The more you depress the gas the dimmer it gets but as you coast it gets brighter until a full stop then it dims again.

You can adjust whether the blue stays bright, dims based on mpgs and also if the sport modes switch the light to red using the DISP settings on the steering wheel (sport and ECO) light settings.

The light is suppose to turn red when you turn it to Sport and Sport +. Might want to have your dealer check that...

If the light is set to a constant blue illumination, it will never switch to red in Sport or Sport+ modes.

Please elaborate Outrage. I have taken my car to the dealer and complained that the is blue all the time and does not change intensity in Eco mode, the dealer says that is the way it is suppose to operate. So what keeps the lamp set to constant blue illumination?

If the eco lamp is set to on then it will stay constant. Try setting eco lamp to self lighting and sport lamp to on for the red in the sport modes.

Configure this within the multi-information display by cycling through the displays using the "DISP" button. It is within the settings menu. Adjust the "ECO lamp" setting from "ON (Always)" to "ON (Self-lighting)".

DrKeith I had taken your advice in a previous thread devoted to my plight with the light, but I did not succeed. I think it is because I did not follow the directions fully, as Outrage points out the setting must be on "self lighting". Let me try this and report back.

I haven't noticed the brightening vs. dimming, but then the last thing I look at when I step on the gas is the blue light. I'm usually looking at the red light hanging above me or the car I'm going to pass.
