I used Dr Colorchip on my 2008 Smokey Gray and it matched fine. I eventually had my hood re-painted and after 90 days installed a Clear Bra. Get a Clear Bra put on before it gets much worse.

The issue is if you have the hood resprayed you have to wait to install the clear bra and its going to get chipped again.

I would just touch it up as best you can and get the clearbra installed.

I have almost 6,000 miles on my GS. Granted, most of them are city, but I do drive highway at least once a week. I only have one rock chip, which I covered with Lexus touch-up paint. Rule of thumb: Don't drive too closely to other cars in front of you, and if you see a truck either hang way behind in another lane or step on it and pass him immediately.

well it happened today, heard the rock and then it bounced on my windshield. 2 little rock chips in the hood. Sucks, but the old me would just totally lose sleep over it. I just filled the chip with touch up paint, sanded it flat and polished it out. It is almost undectable, but not perfect. That's life!

I said the same thing in a previous thread, but I do admit that the paint seems pretty prone to chipping. In my first 1500 miles I had a couple chips that required touchups, and a few very minor ones that only I could see. The clearbra was a good purchase IMHO.
