So, the final conclusion is the Sylvania 168/194/2825 Premium White will work in both the trunk and puddle lamps?

Skip the vleds folks. Get the Sylvania and you won't have to pull the mirror for the life of your GS.

The Sylvania will fit mirror puddle, trunk, mirror visor.

Just got one Sylvania from AutoZone, they only had 1 in stock, 9.99, changed the trunk and the difference is huge. Thanks guys. I'll have to get 2 more for the mirrors.

What would be a good replacement for the reverse lights? Use the same Sylvanias?

Guys,

tried to get to the mirror and it seems impossible. The clip does not seem to have any tabs that are moving, I can reach it but it feels really solid and no part of it seems to release. Any advise?

As far as I know it's not the same bulb. I am not too sure what size bulb it uses though.

Trust me, it's scary as hell. You have to tilt the mirror towards the car then put your finger behind the glass and pry carefully off. I repeat it's not fun but it works. I still haven't gotten to the pass. mirror since I did the driver side in July. I blame trauma (and laziness).

I went with the VLED 5K high power flanks. They're 2 watt and have 4 LEDs.I've used them in every Lexus I've owned and will last just as long as the Sylvania.

The Sylvania does work great in the trunk because the bulb is facing down.

So what you are saying it's not a clip really, but I should just pull on it carefully, or should I try to undo a clip?

Yea I just pulled gently (but firmly!) and each of the four will pop off. I didn't pry open any of the clips but you might be able to do it with a long flathead screwdriver to get the first one off. Once one is off it's easier to get more of your fingers behind the glass to pry off the rest.

i just gave this several times and wow is that tab hard to release. I'm going to try what yardie did and try pulling it off. Hope nothing breaks..

Updated: Took Yardie's method and it worked like a charm even thought he first mirror took an hour to get off. Yanking it off is definitely easier than trying to pull the tabs.

yeah.. it is ridiculously hard to pull off the tab. I did the mod on saturday and not for nothing, my fingers are still in pain...

in the bright side, once u bite your teeth and pull one tab out, like the rest said, 3 tabs come off like butter. the people in the thread said pull or push the tab but the way i liked it is literally try to stick your index tip in between the 2 tabs like hotdog and try to carefully pull it out. that's how i did it for both sides and come off real easy. i am going to tell you tho. get ready for some EXTREME pain.

after you are done, you will look at the puddle light and smile and smoke a ciggarate and feel accomplished.

I haven't seen any pictures of the inside, after the mirror is out. Did I miss it, or maybe someone could post a picture. I'd like to see what these tabs look like before I start pulling. Thanks in advance ...

The first page has detailed pictures of the process and shows the "tabs". I did both last week, but I did not resort to trying to pop the tabs off. I gently tugged and pulled on the mirror until the tabs were off one at a time.
