I thought those were intended to cover up the odor of cigarette smoke.

I'm digging this thread up from the grave. I have been using a Bath & Body Works air freshener in my GS for roughly one month. I purchased the "pewter" holder, which matches the silver plastic trim fairly well, and the Eucalyptus Mint air freshener. I hung the holder on the map pocket which is on the rear of the driver's seat. It works, it looks nice, and it's reasonably priced. Replacement air fresheners are available at local shopping centers.

Tried the leather Wonder Wafers.Great idea but the scent was weak at best and didn't last for me.I went back to the spray I mentioned earlier in the thread.I spray the scent on the Wonder Wafer and store under front seats.

Which is nicer? The Leather Scent or The New Car Smell? Coz basically our new car smell all leather inside. So the Leather Scent will be closer to our new car smell? Or The New Car Smell have a diffrent fragrance? I'm using the Leather Scent now & it really smells like wheni got the car day 1. But it does not last... or is it maybe my nose got used to the scent.

The new car smell is almost impossible to replicate. It comes from offgassing plastics, labels, adhesives, etc. I have never smelled a "new car smell" air freshener that at all resembled the actual new car smell.

So I prefer a subtle leather scent once the new car smell wears away. Smells nothing like a new car, but its pleasant and smells like it could be natural...unlike say cherry or vanilla.

Lexus must use a very different type of tanning process in their leather as it has almost no leather smell to it at all. The leather in my Jag smells like leather.

With respect to the air freshners, I don't care for them, although we don't smoke and if we have some fast food the windows are always left open so there's no trace of food smell afterward.

it's because the leather is coated.

ive been through so many over the years , squash is the only one that makes me want to get in and drive, no matter if it's hot or cold. it universally smells good instead of smelling good for some and not others . everyone likes it

Aren't all modern leather auto interiors coated these days?
