Gracenote Database Updates for GS 2013
I discovered that my Gracenote Software on my 2013 GS which I purchased in August 2012 is dated 2011-01. My dealership of Lexus of Cherry Hill, NJ is trying to find out about updates. Gracenote software is what allows us to see authors, titles, etc on CDs, DVDs, and most radio stations including satellite and Pandora. Gracenote told me that they make available updates each quarter but the automobile companies decide when and how to make these updates available. Gracenote deals with the auto industries and not with us individually. There is a link through our menu where you can see where the Gracenote update is and when you plug in the usb software updates. Has anyone updated Gracenote on their 2013 GS? I am still waiting to update my navigation maps. Generation 7 just became available but my dealership is missing the activation card number to do so.

Update on Gracenote and Navigation Updates and MAP
Just spoke with Lexus Technology Department in California. Navigation updates for 2013 Lexus Cars will be available mid-January 2013 with the release of the Activation Card Number to go with the USB Updates at dealerships.
Gracenote Firmware Updates available from Lexus at the end of February 2013 for all Lexus Cars. They need to decide if done by dealer through USB Drive or wirelessly as they do with our applications on our cars as a free update to better our radios, etc. They want to avoid us always going to the dealership.
Good News for Iphone users: End of March Apple should be releasing 6.1 update of the operating system for their phones. The beta version Lexus has been testing allows us to respond to messages with the 16 canned responses or creating our own. We also receive emails and respond to them. Do not know if the 4 and 4S will work with this new sysytem or we need a #5 or the new 5S or 6 coming out in late spring 2013. Stay tune.

What did you order that took 4 months to arrive. My dealer quoted 2 months for an F sport with Nav/ML/Active park/Blind Spot. Just curious if it was a certian option or model.

I ordered mine in early April and picked it up 3 1/2 months later. My dealer quoted me about 8 weeks but I knew better so I wasn't upset.

Keep in mind that I'm on the east coast, so the transit time is almost a month.

Hi JAM,
Yeah, I saw your username, and suspected you were the guy Leo told me about. Leo does go the extra mile. I probably drove him nuts with all my questions...and "rants" against Lexus for all the stupid things that Lexus did with the GS, and how difficult it was to get detailed info from Lexus, particularly the PCS.
Since you've got a "loaded" GS and have had a few months with it, I was wondering about your impressions, particularly the "special order" options. I'm sure the members of the forum would appreciate that too, since most people considering these options won't be able to find a demo that has them.

i noticed this in my car today.
now when i use my iphone (4s), i can't "jump" to artists (i.e. if i want to listen to TOOL, i have to scroll forever instead of clicking on the "TUV" button.
anyone else having this issue? it's annoying as hell and basically makes all of the in car commands for iphone/ipod completely useless.
