Why is there a shortage of 2013 GS F Sport?

Lexus Test Driver
What's driving me nuts: It's impossible to find LDH (rear steering) equipped models in California. Yet according to Lexus inventory Texas has 4 and Florida has like 8. Could order but then lose all bargaining power...

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. The park place lexus has the color combo but it was a demo car.
I called keyes lexus in van nuys and spoke to a different gentlemen because Jay wasn't available and he told me that they have nebula grey and red in stock and that he can get the nebula grey and black for me from somewhere else. He told me to come in asap if I wanted the car. I then called Jay from the same dealership because modthispny recommended him. At least Jay was truthful, because he said they didn't have the color combo in stock and that he couldn't located them. I would be mad if I would have driven all the way there for nothing.

Different dealers are offering different specials. Sewell is saying $499/month for a base GS for 24 mos, Park Place had a base GS for $399/month, all with a fairly large down payment, for 10k/year. I worked a deal for a Mark Levinson equipped car for sub $600/month, 15,000 miles a year for 3 years, true zero down (tax, etc. all rolled into the lease). I haven't read of a better deal anywhere, and the numbers I worked out make me feel pretty good about the deal. Guess that's all that matters, for the car I want.

I find the way that Lexus distributes the cars around the country very odd. Why are all the 4GS showing up in my area optioned exactly the same way? I wonder if another big inventory shipment is on its way or if they just slowly replace cars as they're sold?

During my hunt for the options and color combo I wanted I spoke with a lot (too many) sales advisers, mostly in the internet departments. I spoke with one that was very open. She stated that she had just come from GM and was mystified my Lexus' ordering practices. She said that the dealers are told by Lexus what they can and can't order. She was unable to get well optioned cars and was stuck with cookie cutter cars that were put together by Lexus.
