we were told since Feb/Mar that the lower F Sport grill would not fit in the Lux/Base models. wow, we were definitely misinformed.

Anybody have any idea how involved it is to swap it? Can I do it myself? Does the bumper cover have to be removed?

Hi tliartis - this looks great! Would you mind providing details about your grille swap - specifically, how involved it was, and how much it cost?

Thanks in advance. I think most of us posting to this thread are awaiting your reply with bated breath....

Default Swap

It was done at Lexus of Orlando, which is the worst dealership ever by the way. Besides my experience, the grill swap was easy. I can't remember exactly I want to say $400 for parts and labor. I would have to check. I don't have the paperwork as I am moving currently. I simply asked them if they could do it and they said sure without a second thought. I would maybe contact them direct to see if they can shed some light.

Back to the original question... I don't like the F-Sport top grill with the standard bottom grill. Looks confused to me and IMHO it makes the bottom grill look cheap.

If there's a way to do both, that would be the way to go.

Yes, that's why I said better to change both than just the top and leave the slats on the bottom. It would almost be tempting to buy the Lux model and change the grills out. At least you get the fog lights that way. But I'd miss that gorgeous Cabernet interior.

anymore details, would be intriguing if I can just swap out both grilles myself. Im wondering how difficult this would be and how much modding the lower grille would take.

I'm waiting til one more person does it to be sure the lower grill fits. That's all that's holding me back.

I have pictures of my original non-F Sport lower grille. If someone wants to post pictures of the F Sport lower grille they could be compared.

I'm in the process of having it done right now. I'll let you know how it turns out. I should be getting my car back the end of next week.

Yes. I did it about 3 months ago. Had a body shop do it. You have to take off a couple of tabs on the bottom grill but it fits and I think it looks great and it only cost $450. If you would like I'll post pics. I also have f-sport OEM wheels I put on. I didn't like the grills or the wheels that come on the Lux.(oh by the way, Most parts departments will tell you it can't do it so I spent $52 to see.
