I just cast/mirror the phone to the 12.3" display and rest in flat inside the cupholder.

Thanks for the advice guys Still kinda undecided since I dont like vent or windshield mounts. The dash mount looks good but was wondering if the phone can be placed lower a bit - I'm assuming it can depending on where the magnet is located on the phone...

There is already an extensive thread about this:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...d-threads.html

I personally prefer the cd slot mounts since I don’t listen to cds anymore.

This has already been stated.

Two slightly different positions with my iPhone 7Plus, I usually use the last where the phone is highest. It does not impede my view of the road nor of the screen. It may seem that a portion of the screen is blocked, but once I turn my head slightly to the right, the entire screen is visible. I don't respond to texts while driving, but if a short message comes up, I can glance at the phone easily. It is easier, and less distracting, than fumbling with the infotainment controls to have it read the text for me.

The phone can still be positioned lower, I have the plate installed almost at the bottom of the phone.

Can majority of the screen be seen in landscape?

I understand this is very much a personal preference topic and yes to each their own. I’m of the opinion of keeping my phone out of the way and not mounted. I don’t mind and prefer to use the Lexus Navi. That said, I do want a way to charge my iPhone 7plus without a cable sticking out and my phone taking up a cup holder

Im leaning toward buying Qi wireless adapter and one of the many flat charging pads on Amazon in my arm rest compartment (not sure if I want it on the upper tray or bottom) but I would utilize the usb inside and that way I could come in the car, lift, place phone, close and drive. This would eliminate cables and keep my phone tucked away from distractions while driving. Anyone else do a similar setup?

I think WeatherTec has one that mounts in the cup holder.

Yes and no. The magnetic mount I have is quite shorter and stubby, so it doesn’t extend the phone far enough away from the dash that curves towards the driver. You will have to get a mount that’s a bit taller to work flawlessly in landscape.

Darth- how has this held up for you?
I was thinkjing about installing my Steelie ball mount there as well. Didnt know if the textured surface would effect the adhesion etc.
Thanks!

still going strong. Using a pixel 3 (non xl) so not the biggest heaviest phone. I used some cheap stuff from Lowes. I got some 3m VHT tape for another purpose that I would use if this ever broke. Much stronger.

Have a cell phone mount from my old vehicle. I finally found a place to use it in the GS. It is an iOttie brand Qi fast charge mount.
