Can 18" wheels and thicker tires prove the ride quality of my 2016 GS awd F sport
Hey guys, I need help; I bought my 2016 GS AWD F sport used back in August of 2019. The roads in NY are horrible, I'm spending more time and money fixing the wheels from get bent from hitting potholes. The 19" wheels on the F sport are beautiful, but are too soft to endure NY roads. The tires don't have enough thickness to absorb the shock and it's terrible. Just like me question states in the title; Can the 18" wheels and tires that come on the standard GS fit properly on the F sport and will the ride quality be comfortable enough to survive the roads of NY?
Thanks
Thanks

In addition to 18" wheels, you can also use bigger tires for better comfort: 245/45R18 instead of the factory 235/45R18.
Many have opted for that with nice things to say.
I still have 235s on mine, but I intend to replace them w 245s when they're done.

18" OEM Lexus GS wheels will fit the AWD F sport with no issue. I have 18" wheels on my non F sport with Dunlop Signature HP tires and find them to be way more comfortable than the sportier Dunlop SP tires that came stock. Actually, you may even find that switching tires alone and staying with your current 19" wheel might be good enough depending on the tire, its sidewall and overall composition.

Has anyone tried 235/50/18 ? It adds more sidewall while maintaining the same width. Of course this also increases tire diameter to 27.25. The diameter of 235/45/18 is 26.33. Aside from the 3.4% speedo error will this cause rubbing or will the added weight cause problems with the F-Sport AVS suspension?
