Default Voice guidance still talks while on phone

I have a customer asking today about the voice guidance system on his 2013 GS. He says that whenever he gets a call on his bluetooth phone, the voice guidance continues to speak to him and he does not want that. Is there a way to mute the guidance while making a phone call easily, or an option to turn that off? I can't for the life of me figure it out and have only seen one passing reply on here mentioning the problem with no resolution.
Any advice would be amazing, thank you to all you helpful people!

voice guidance can be turned off,,, or you can turn the volume all the way down. but you have to go into the NAV settings i believe.

The quickest way I've found is ... Menu ... Setup ... Voice ... Volume ( i.e. 0, 1, 2, etc.)

Tip: I've found that there's no need to hit save on the setup screen, just hit the map button and you're good to go.

Angry voice guidance doesn't mute during phone calls

so I just traded my 2010 RX450H for a 2013 RX450H and on my new one the voice guidance does not mute when I'm on a phone call which makes it super annoying. basically makes having the voice guidance unusable. i really think is not acceptable! anyone know a fix other than turning off voice guidance? thanks

I've never had a car that automatically muted the guidance during a call. That includes Acura, Infiniti and Audi. I've always had to turn the guidance voice down or off if I didn't want to hear it.

MyFord Touch does that. While you're on the phone it replaces the voice guidance dialog with simple beeps (one or two) to indicate you are approaching a turn (one) and when you are at the turn (two). It works quite well. It also has the ability to mute the radio when you're not on a call and the voice guidance dialog speaks. After taking possession of the GS 350, I was surprised that my far more expensive Lexus had an inferior navigation system design to what can be found in sub-$25,000 Fords.

Duct tape has been found to have many fine uses.

Rarely is that a configurable option.

It's not that bad, I learned the 1,2, nod. Just keep counting to two and nodding until the noise stops

has anyone found a way to mute the voice guidance from the nav system while on a phone call? and not by having to go into setup. that's lame. my 2010 RX 450H did this automatically but my new 2013 RX 450H does not and its very annoying. anyone? thanks

My 2012 RX 350 did not give voice directions while I was on a phone call. I got lost more than once because of this. My new 2013 RX 350 does not mute guidance when on a phone call and I, for one, am THRILLED that the guidance continues during a phone call. Now I can talk AND get where I need to go.

Will be interested to see if there's a legitimate response to this. I've had a 2008 Toyota 4-Runner and a 2010 GS350 that automatically muted the voice guidance while on the phone, but now my 2013 GS 350 talks right over you.

I've also seen some posts about the radio volume not lowering while voice guidance is speaking. This was also automatic on my two previous cars.

Any ideas?? It's pretty annoying to have it talk over you when you're on the phone!

I agree, I had a 2010 RX and got lost often while on a phone call and now I replaced it with a 2012 GX that does the same thing I have to always hang up the phone . My acura speaks during a phone call but automatically lowers the volume.
