Went to the dealer today for my first 5000 mile service and had mine switched to 5 bursts while they were at it. I've got to admit 5 bursts seems just right. 3 bursts was just too short for me.

It's kind of a silly process, just a series of moving the wiper stalk. I changed mine to 5, but then went back to 3. (In the LS460 it's in the vehicle customization accessed in the nav screen.)
I'm looking forward to the DIY blinker change. Thanks ahead.

Thanks for the instruction.

I just don't get it why Lexus not built it to the menu setting just like the LS & LX.

Great information. Thanks gkcmilner! It worked great. One question. What is the "same direction cancel function" supposed to do? Is this supposed to enable a function to cancel the normal turn signal by switching it in the same direction in addition to the opposite direction, which is the defaul? I could not get this part to work. Thanks again.

I had trouble at first too. Make sure in the first step you HOLD the position of the wiper in the off position while simultaneously hitting the ignition switch (twice if you are not starting the engine). Also note the difference between right/left "Lane change" and "turn".

I finally got it to work. My mistake was letting the wiper stalk return to the neutral position between maneuvers. Thanks!

You are correct. Instead of pushing the stalk half-way in the opposite direction (the default) to cancel the turn signal, you push it half-way in the same direction.
I haven't tried changing this since the default seems the most intuitive for me.

One more clarification: the procedure worked for me only when in step 5 I selected the desired setting on the wiper barrel switch before starting the entire procedure.

Not to hijack the thread, but is there a DIY way to make the key fob open the windows and sunroof?
