going to look at GS350.. what price should i be aiming for?
hey; so quick introduction;
i purchased a 12 acura TL SH-awd 6spd manual last year. like the car; just need something a little more comfortable and luxurious. either way; i'm looking into getting into a GS350 luxury w/additional options. online i see two luxury packages; one for $8,500 and one for $10,700, so roughly $2200 difference for the HUD and ML sound system.. what do you guys think? with the $8500 package the total MSRP (for RWD) is $56,260.. what price should i shoot for? spoke to a person on the phone and he says that because i'm coming from another luxury vehicle i can get an additional $1500 off. any financing specials coming soon? didnt see anything online; probably since it's a new car.. either way any opinions would be great, thanks

Figure the invoice price at Edmunds.com. Shoot for that, plus or minus $500. I paid $500 under invoice, and I am sure the dealer made plenty. If not, he would have not sold for that.

Also anybody recommend any sales people in the Tampa bay area?
Thanks

I would try for $500 UNDER invoice, less the rebate. I got quotes by email from California dealers, and my dealer matched them, painfully. I was willing to buy in CA and fly there to take delivery. I made that clear to my dealer, and they matched the CA pricing to keep from losing the sale.

#1. You also should buy at the end month, that is when most of the good deals are made. Some dealers still have their May books open until June 4th.
#2. Be flexible. You will get a better deal on a car on the lot vs. one that has to be located.
#3. Go you the dealer with the largest inventory

Without any problems they're giving me the car for $50K plus tax (Msrp $56). But they are really low balling me on my trade. Car max offered 31K and they're offering me $28K. I may just try to sell it privately

If carmax is going to give you 31, there is no reason why you should not be able to get 32-34 on Craigs.
Call all the local Lexus dealers, and tell them that you will be in at 5 o clock tomorrow (or whenever), to buy a GS350.
You are going to the dealership that gives the best price. Tell them you will have a check already made out for the full amount (taxes and doc fees, etc.), and that you will not discuss the cost with anyone. If they do not accept that check (with the FINAL/TOTAL cost), then you will have a second check made out for the 2nd lowest price.
They will call you with the best price.

Is there a dealership in CA that has a most consistent email offer at or around invoice price? I might inquire on an offer to see what they are willing to sell at.

If you have a dealer willing to sell you the car for 6k off MSRP, thats probably about the best deal you're going to make on one of these cars IMHO...

yes if i was a cash buyer. however they're raping me on my trade in (i will try to sell on my own, but it is difficult to sell a one year old car privately) and the interest rate for 60 months is 3.24 (and that is with me having a credit score of 800). i'm also interested to see what they improve on in the mid cycle refresh

Yeah I mean, they can only sell them for a certain amount and not loose money, that number is typically invoice less the holdback...assuming there are no rebates. So, you know if the price is less than that...theres profit somewhere else. I too would be interested in knowing what would happen to the price if you took the trade out of the equation.
When negotiating for a car, you need to separate everything out. Get down to the best price, then work on the trade, then work on the financing.
I wouldn't go through the hassle of trying to sell it on my own for $1-2k. I would just sell it to Carmax for the $31k and call it done.
Thats not terrible, does LFS have any special rates for the GS right now?
