But vehicles are exempt for the first 7 years. So you only have to do the smog test once the vehicle hits 8 years old. I never keep cars that long so never had to do it.
So the parking brake is electrical. So what happens when the battery is dead or removed?
If you removed the battery, the parking brake would stay engaged (or disengaged if it wasn't on prior to battery removal), as there would be no power to change states.
